And he said, “I will make all my goodness pass before you and will proclaim before you my name ‘The LORD.’ And I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show mercy on whom I will show mercy. 20 But,” he said, “you cannot see my face, for man shall not see me and live.” 21 And the LORD said, “Behold, there is a place by me where you shall stand on the rock, 22 and while my glory passes by I will put you in a cleft of the rock, and I will cover you with my hand until I have passed by. 23 Then I will take away my hand, and you shall see my back, but my face shall not be seen.” (Ex 33:19–23).
This weekend was filled with the Glory of God…Global Missions’ Weekend at our church ignited new passion to SEE His glory in all the Nations on this earth! We heard a missionary speak who has witnessed the authority and power of Jesus to a people group that had never heard the name of Jesus…Dave and I were so blessed to share our calling with the children (HIS favorites!) at our home church….and we had a concert of prayer last night with our church family. God has set us on a rock next to Him. He has chosen to shower us with His glory….He has been victorious in a weak with some pretty intense spiritual battles. He has reminded my heart through His truth this week that HE IS THE AUTHORITY. He is jealous for His Glory. We saw that last night. I sat still in the back pew…listening to the concert of prayers being lifted…I wondered how Beautiful that was to our Heavenly Father as hearts were poured our for His children around the world. Was His hand moving hearts even as we prayed? Did the Name of Jesus go out? Were children placed in families? Was protection placed around missionaries serving Him around the world? YES. How precious to be a small voice in a choir reaching around the world!
My kids were incredible…they stood up front with us and introduced themselves…shy smiles on their faces. Even sweet Maija spoke with such confidence and joy as she introduced herself…my little girl who clung to my leg at the beginning of this year. They are growing up… I know what all of this means for them. It makes my heart ache…but then REJOICE! I hate to think of the goodbyes…the losses they face as we go. But I LOVE knowing that God has given them this LIFE…that they will learn to depend on Him and SEE Him in our daily lives…in the faces of the poor and the orphan–those distressing disguises. I love that they will learn early to PRAY, to have FAITH, to pour out their lives….
We are getting closer!! Every day, one step closer!! And one day closer to HEAVEN!
