Do you ever have one of those days?? I did today…from the first moment (not with me and Jesus…) but after the kids faced me…it began. My mentor was over this afternoon and said something about joy…I told her lately I feel like I have to FIGHT for it…all through the day. She said, “Well, you’re really in the trenches of parenting right now.” That is true, but why is it so hard somedays?? I snuck upstairs for a quiet moment in the word…opened to Isaiah 1 and KNEW he understood. This verse brought such a torrent of emotion in this weary soul…pain, knowing that I have rebelled…I have been ungrateful, I have not understood His goodness…He knows the pain (and joy) of parenting…It also brought total comfort…total comfort that nothing in my day has not been experienced or understood by my Heavenly Father…He is so good. My kids are normal…they need grace, just like their momma…they need discipline, patience, and constant, constant mercy…His mercies are new moment by moment…today, I had to pray continually that my mercy would be new…He is faithful to get me beyond myself and press on…

on a precious note, my kids and dave are building a castle in the garage right now out of cardboard boxes…just when you thought nothing else could happen in the garage-o-fun…here it comes…
The focus lately that has worked here in the ayer home is to focus on Kingdom Behavior and conduct…Acting and living as princesses and knights…this has worked to speak to character, honor, truth, loyalty…all those awesome qualities! SO, the castle will be SO awesome for my Royalty 🙂 pictures to come!!
The best part today was that God brought it all about…Ella began writing a “Code of Conduct” this morning, using all of the character qualities we’ve studied this year!! (YEAH, sometimes, we get the joy of SEEING the fruit!!) She wrote 20 of them, in alphabetical order!! So, then we decided we needed a castle, where this code must be followed!! So, off to do our Kingdom work!! IT IS WORTH IT ALL!!
