snow day!

Today I am reminiscing…about one of the people I love most on this earth…my sweet sister.

We have walked through life together and I am so in awe of the joys, the pain, the lessons, the ugliness, bad hair seasons, laughter, faith, transitions, road trips, boating, camping, moves, family, travel, heartache, braces, Concordia, ELCA, wyoming radio broadcasting:), the ‘horse’ laugh, worshiping, emailing, LONG phone calls, prayers, following JESUS on parallel paths and all the incredible adventures God has allowed us experience side by side.  You are one of my greatest gifts on this earth.

Sis, you are one of the most inspirational, beautiful, vibrant, joyful, faithful, FUN people in my life.  I love you so much…

one of the best things in life...sisters!

SO…Today was a rare day here in Taegu, SK…We have a half inch of SNOW ON THE GROUND!!!

It was so fun to watch my kids–so DELIGHTED!! Maija kept yelling, “It’s all white, it’s all white!” Riah was squealing and sticking her tongue out to catch her FIRST snowflakes!  Caleb and Ella bundled up and went out while the littles were napping…it was so fun to remember back to my sis and I playing and creating in this wonderful white stuff!! (Isn’t God so awesome and creative! I love it!)

Caleb was out for over an hour by himself–singing, creating, playing, talking to himself.

I loved watching him be completely boy (except for the purple snowsuit and fur boots–but, that’s beside the point! He said it was better to be warm and girly than be frost-bitten-I agree.)

THEN Uncle Jimmy and Lil’ Jimmy came, Maija woke up and the FUN began!! Thanks Uncle Jimmy! Everyone was so happy! An hour and a half in the snow was just what we needed for our cabin fever!! And I loved being all warm and cozy inside hearing all the screaming and laughter out in the cold…perfect!  The Jimmys were too cute…what expert sledders!

5 arrows that i love.

Today I’m super excited about the fact that God uses FAMILIES to reflect His Glory! In fact, I believe the PURPOSE of family is to bring Him Glory and reflect HIS heart here on earth!

Much of this blog will be dedicated to my precious family, especially the children God has entrusted to us.

This passage from Psalm 127 guides and encourages my heart…

So, in 2010, I am devoted to Jesus and dedicated to helping my children KNOW and LOVE Him.

“Children are a HERITAGE from the LORD,
a REWARD from Him.
Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are sons born in one’s youth.”

What a high honor to be a mommy.  I am so thankful for you, my 5 Beautiful Arrows.

another dream come true…

we're not really bikers, nor do we have tatoos, but we are crazy about each other!

Okay, so can you tell I’m really excited about blogging!!

I MUST write at least one more blog on the birth of our blog…Congratulations, Babe…IT’S A BLOG!

This one is dedicated to my sweet husband who always seems to make my dreams come true.

This is a whole new realm for us, but one we are excited to be apart of!

De'Dee Brown - YAY! I am so glad to see you are blogging. I kept looking at your other one and nothing new showed up! Again YAY! Thanks for sharing and showing pictures! God Bless you and keep you and make HIS face (continue to) shine upon you and give you His peace… {{{hugs}}}

launching.

2010!!

I can’t believe it!  So, here’s to a beautiful new year…the launching of what we HOPE to be a means of sharing our greatest JOY with you…all over the world!

Our first post is dedicated to our Awesome God…

Psalm 145

“I will extol you, my God the King;

I will praise your name for ever and ever.

Every day I will praise you and extol your name for ever and ever.

Great is the LORD and most worthy of praise;

His greatness no one can fathom.

One generation will commend your works to another; they will tell of your mighty acts.

They will SPEAK of the glorious splendor of your majesty, and I will meditate on your wonderful works.

They will TELL of the power of your awesome works, and I will proclaim your great deeds.

They will CELEBRATE your abundant goodness and joyfully sing of your righteousness.

The LORD is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love.

The LORD is good to all; He has compassion on all he has made.

All you have made will PRAISE YOU, O LORD; your saints will extol you.

They will tell of the glory of your kingdom and speak of your might,

SO THAT ALL MEN MAY KNOW

OF YOUR MIGHTY ACTS and the GLORIOUS SPLENDOR OF YOUR KINGDOM.”
